Know what happens to unclaimed rewards

Whether you send Standard rewards with no claim deadline or Promotional rewards with a claim-by date, Giftbit shows you exactly what was sent, delivered, opened, claimed, and still outstanding.

This visibility helps you catch bounced emails and wrong addresses, follow up while there’s still time, and improve future sends.

Whether your priority is maximizing participation, understanding your final program cost, or recouping budget, you won’t be left guessing what happened after delivery.

Plus, for Promotional rewards, you can set a claim-by date at no extra cost. If value remains unclaimed after the deadline, 25% is returned to your Giftbit balance by default. Eligible programs may qualify for even more return.

Note: Some providers keep all of the unclaimed value and make it difficult to see how it's handled. Others charge for the option to set a claim window. Giftbit makes it easy to see what's going on.

Transparent digital gift card platform pricing

Know exactly where your money is going and why.

  • Face-value pricing for most rewards when you fund by ACH/EFT, direct debit, or bank wire
  • Some prepaid options have a per-card fee. Check the specific prepaid card for current pricing.
  • Free currency conversion
  • Credit-card funding for 2.9% of the total amount (i.e., not a fee on every card)
  • Unlimited custom reward templates at no extra cost

Discounts for large programs

Eligible programs can unlock volume pricing and revenue sharing without waiting to reach typical enterprise-sized spend. Talk to Sales about pricing for your program.

One reward catalog for every type of program

Choose a specific gift card, create a curated selection of brands, or let recipients browse the full global catalog available to them.

Giftbit offers more than 1,500 localized options, including gift cards from popular brands like Starbucks, Amazon, Walmart, Apple, and Google Play, plus prepaid cards from Visa and Mastercard, cryptocurrency options, and charitable donations.

Gift card platform FAQs

What is a gift card platform?

A gift card platform helps businesses send, automate, manage, and track digital gift cards and prepaid cards for rewards and incentives. Giftbit distributes rewards to employees, customers, research participants, and other recipients. It isn’t software for creating or issuing a retailer’s own store gift cards.

Can I simulate the sending experience without actually sending money (e.g. as a preview) and then choose to send a small test to see the workflow?

Yes, Giftbit lets you send a “test reward” from your regular account that simulates the full recipient experience without actually spending any funds or sending a real gift. It's perfect for previewing messages, branding, and the claim process.

Test emails are clearly marked as tests and can't be redeemed for real value.

If you're happy with the flow, you can then send a real, small-value reward to yourself to see the full live process.

Let’s say I want to purchase 25 gift cards that are worth $25 each. Do I still pay face value?

Yes! With Giftbit, you pay the exact face value for the gift cards you send. 25 x $25 gift cards would cost you $625. There are no extra fees if you fund your account by bank transfer; credit card funding adds a 2.9% fee.

If I send a gift card to someone, do they need to make an account?

No, recipients do not need to create an account to claim or use a Giftbit gift card or prepaid card. They simply click their unique reward link and follow the redemption instructions. We've designed the entire process to be super easy, so there's no unnecessary or added barriers for your audience.

Pro-tip: be sure to ask about recipient experience in your discovery stage. Some legacy providers may require your recipients to download a separate app just to access their rewards.

I am trying to create an account, but it says, "use a valid e-mail address, free e-mail providers are not accepted."

Giftbit only accepts sign ups from paid, business/work email domains—this means emails tied to a real company, organization, or institution (like @yourcompany.com). Free email domains such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, or similar are not allowed.

This policy ensures:

  • Security and compliance with B2B requirements
  • Only legitimate businesses use Giftbit’s services
  • Reduced risk of fraud and misuse

If you’re signing up for your organization, simply use your official work email and you’ll be good to go!

If your work email isn’t being accepted but should be, please contact support@giftbit.com for assistance.

What support options does Giftbit provide for both clients and recipients?

Giftbit support includes:

  • Every client and recipient gets unlimited access to dedicated, in-house support via live chat, phone, and email—no tiers, no additional cost.
  • Support includes help with technical issues, card redemption, lost emails, or recipient questions, so both senders and reward recipients are always taken care of (with a human-in-the-loop!).

How can I send digital gift cards internationally?

To send digital gift cards internationally with Giftbit, you simply create a free account, pick from Giftbit’s robust catalog of 1,500+ localized rewards, and send them by email, text, or direct link. Your recipients will only see options tailored to their country and currency, with automatic currency conversion handled for you. You can also automate delivery with integrations like Zapier or Giftbit’s API for seamless, global reward flows.

How does Giftbit pricing compare with Tremendous and Tango?

Based on publicly listed pricing at the time of publication, Giftbit, Tremendous, and Tango all offer free platform access and face-value pricing for most standard digital gift cards. The meaningful differences are in funding fees, specific reward products, volume pricing, and how unclaimed value is handled.

Giftbit has the best credit card funding fee at 2.9%, compared with Tremendous’s published 3%. Bank funding through either platform is free. Tremendous also lists separate 4–6% fees for certain monetary payout options, which don’t apply to its standard gift cards.

Tango’s portal is free in most cases, but certain products and customizations carry additional fees.

Giftbit also offers eligible programs volume discounts, revenue sharing, and customized terms for unclaimed value, typically starting at far lower spending thresholds than either platform (although this can vary).

To understand your full program costs, always compare the reward type, funding method, expected volume, support, and treatment of unclaimed rewards—not just the platform fee.
