Frequently asked questions
How does Giftbit make money?
There are two ways that gift card providers make a profit:
- Discounts: we have partnerships with suppliers that share a margin with us.
- Breakage. When a card goes unclaimed, the value reverts back.
We have a pricing structure based on determining factors to share revenue based on those two streams of revenue.
Talk to sales to see if your program will qualify.
What is breakage?
Breakage refers to the balance of the gift card value that goes unused after it expires.
Talk to sales to see if your program will qualify for breakage sharing.
How many rewards usually go unclaimed?
It depends on your reward program, recipients, and whether you're delivering rewards via an application or email. Across Giftbit clients, there’s a range of 0%-15% rewards that go unclaimed.
Giftbit sends recipients reminder emails to claim their rewards. We also offers tips and tricks to help you optimize reward claims for your program.
I want to close my account. How do I receive my balance back?
If you wish to close your account and have your available account balance refunded, please email our Customer Support team at support@giftbit.com. There are no fees for refunds or for account closures.
How do I request an invoice or a payment receipt?
Contact our Finance team at finance@giftbit.com if you require an invoice before purchasing account credit from Giftbit.
For credit card payments, receipts are automatically sent by email. If you fund your account via wire/bank transfer and require a receipt, please contact our Finance team at finance@giftbit.com.
